Lound Water Ski Club hosts the Lound Open each year in mid July.

This years competition takes place on the 16th, 17th and 18th July 2010.

LOUND OPEN 2010
Less than 4 weeks to go now before this year’s Lound Open which takes place on the weekend of 16th-18th July 2010 at Lound Waterski Club.

The last two year’s competitions have been memorable and this year’s will hopefully be no exception.

The event is open to all divisions. As usual, the multi-round tournament will take place on the Saturday and Sunday (17th & 18th) and will be preceded by a 2 round slalom competition on the Friday evening starting at 5pm sharp. The main tournament will comprise 3 rounds of slalom, 2 trick rounds and 3 jump rounds.

This year we have installed the Splash-eye jump measuring system at Lound and to celebrate this, there will be cash prizes on offer in the jump competition. Each competitor’s longest single jump distance recorded from each of the 3 rounds will be totalled to give an aggregate total distance jumped across all three rounds. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

Longest aggregate distance jumped        £250
2nd longest aggregate distance              £150
3rd longest aggregate distance               £100
4th longest aggregate distance               £50

Ladies will be given a 30% advantage.

We are also planning this year to hold a cash prize slalom head-to-head competition. This will, to a degree, depend on time available and the weather conditions but, the plan is for skiers to qualify for the head-to-head from the 3 tournament slalom rounds held on Saturday/Sunday. Full details on the format will be made available at the event and the prizes will be:

1st place                               £75
2nd place                              £50
3rd place                               £25

The Lound Open Special Merit Award will be awarded to the junior competitor (16 years and under) who, in the opinion of a panel of judges, puts in an outstanding performance over the weekend.

Camping and food/refreshments will be available on site over the weekend. Anticipated start times are:

Friday 16th July                 5.00pm
Saturday 17th July             8.30am
Sunday 18th July               9.00am
